Michelle's love for music began at an early age. She began piano instruction at age eight and began singing in the Glen Ellyn Children's Chorus, now ANIMA, as a child and teenager. She sang in many different styles, genres and ensembles, growing up including vocal jazz and acappella. Michelle graduated with a B.M. in Vocal Performance from DePaul University, where she studied with Jane Bunnell. She sang the role of Olivia in a new opera, "Twelfth Night" by Joel Feigin as well as the role of ""Musetta" in La Boheme. In Chicago, Michelle sang with the Grant Park Music Festival and was the soprano section leader at a local church. She taught piano and voice lessons during and after college.
As a teacher, Michelle focuses on creating a comfortable environment so that students can explore their potential at a pace that matches their goals. She takes a holistic approach to singing and teaching, honoring each student's process and learning style. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, yoga and adventures. She also sings with Bella Voce Women's Chorus of Vermont. She moved to Vermont in 2016 and has come to love this state and its beauty!
